MAJOR RILEY was born and raised in Sangre Grande, Trinidad & Tobago. He first burst on the scene in 1996 with his popular single “Signs of Times” which received rave reviews in major international markets such as the U.K., Germany, and the Caribbean setting the underground ablaze and headlining several Bob Marley Festival Tours in the US.
His trademark is his musical versatility and according to the artist, his musical inspiration was influenced at an early age by reggae legends like: Bob Marley, Israel Vibrations and Shabba Ranks…

When music simply took over his life: “It just found me… I want to touch the world with my music.”
His first studio album, “The Untold Story,” was released in 2000 under the Dope House record label and is still available for purchase today on the internet. Unquestionably one of the most talented artists to emerge on the scene
Major Riley with artist Baby Bash (produced by platinum award recipient Happy Perez) is now certified Gold by the R.I.A.A. (Recording Industry Association of America) for the song “Suga Suga remix” on the CD entitled “the Smoking Nephew” (Universal Records) & the soundtrack (TVT Records) of 2004 major motion picture “Be Cool,” hitting the charts domestically and abroad.
Major Riley has been blessed with the uncanny ability to rip any reggae, dancehall or soca track and has performed amongst the likes of Scrunta, Crazy, Denise Belfon, Alison Hinds, Byron, Rupee, Shaggy, Shabba Ranks, Sean Paul, Sanchez, Sizzla, Capleton, Morgan Heritage and other luminaries of soca and reggae music. As a very prolific, tenacious and creative artist, Major Riley has continuously worked hard on other projects and releases. Current plans include the release of the follow-up album to “The Untold Story” titled “Days of Circumstances.” The next single being heavily promoted is the soca dance track “Wooy Fireman.” Major Riley has just completed the music video and the song is gaining popularity worldwide. Major Riley is blazing a trail across the Caribbean with his sights set on dominating the charts here in the U.S. and around the globe.

The American pop singer and writer Lady Gaga is again in controversy thanks to her new single, Judas whose video, will be premiered during this Holy Week in which the artist has performed the role of a peculiar Mary Magdalene, who has hurt the sensibilities of religious groups.

According to details published in the U.S., the video will be full of religious details, with the participation of actor Norman Reedus in the role of a maniacal Judas and Gaga appear as a Gothic version of the figure of Mary Magdalene with huge makeup applied wearing a dark coat.

The seepage through the shoot photographs have attracted criticism from many organizations, led by the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights in the USA, whose president is Bill Donahue, he had called Gaga’s video a “publicity stunt.”

“He’s trying to copy the entire Christian imagery to support their actions mundane, boring and untalented,” Donahue said in a statement.  For its part, the choreographer of the video, Laurieann Gibson has tried to downplay the issue.

Gaga’s new album, Born This Way, will be released on 23 May. So far two singles have been released in advance: the title track to the album’s title called Judas was released on, the last 15. The track is Mother Monster’s most lyrically unguarded yet on matters of faith and religion.song has been produced by RedOne’s dance-flooring stompers. A few days ago we told you about good shoes , a group of relatively unknown indie pop that we find the most attractive. We compared them with theWombats, a band of similar style and greater roll but not yet accessible to the public (special mention deserves “Let’s Dance To Joy Division”).

However, taking the news of the launch of the new LP of the latter, we reiterate that we must also listen to The Wombats, British band in 2007 released his debut in this LP with a superb job and that is sure to enchant you those who seek independent and quality pop.

According to the official website of the group, the trio’s new album, produced by Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, REM), is already being done. As an appetizer, the 27th of this month, is released the first single from the album: “Tokyo (Vampires and Wolves), which video you can see the end of this post.

True wonders like “Moving To New York”, “Kill The Director” or the fantastic and the aforementioned “Let’s Dance To Joy Division”, including, The Wombats Proudly Present … A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation and whose humming is really difficult to prevent them reported some echo in the world of independent music. We hope that the publication of his new album would take them to greater success. We have no doubt that it will if they continue in the vein of its debut album.
